- The Mechanical Air to Surface Course aims to prepare the student with Concepts, Knowledge, and Skills, which can then be applied in a Virtual Combat Environment.
- The term “Mechanical” makes reference to the fact that these forms of AS Attack involve multiple aircraft working in cooperation with each other, as though they form one overall machine.
- The MECHAS Course will only look at Ingress Profiles, Pop-Up Profiles, and Attack Profiles,
- It is expected that you will have already looked at the UGAS Course, understand BCWD, and Delivery Profiles
- The course may make reference to Sensors and Systems, please consult your Airframe Specific Training Areas for more information
- This course is greatly inspired by the Unclassified USMC Publication: “Flight Syllabus Guide Maneuver Descriptions Ver. 3.0"
- Published by: United States Marine Corps Harrier Force VMAT - 203
- This course will also recommend SOPs for MECHAS, and how to assess a Student’s competency. However, it will be the responsibility of the Squadron to define how the assessment is performed, and which sections of this course are involved, as each aircraft has its own unique needs.
